FAQ

This is a short FAQ how certain things are managed in our club. If you have further questions, just ask any officer anytime or use the "questions thread".

Just note that some links might not work if you are not logged on to easy-Speak.

What do I have to do if I want to hold a speech?

First of all you log on to easy-Speak and Request a Speech.

Please note, that there is a pool of requested speeches and there are a number of things we consider when scheduling speeches. Mainly we try to give every member an equal chance to get a speaking slot, but there are also special occasions when certain speeches get higher priority. For example if a member wants to participate in a contest or as might apply to you - holds his or her first speech at Effective Communicators.

So if it is your Ice Breaker or first speech as a new member at Effective Communicators that you are requesting, be sure to contact the VP-Education, because your speech will be scheduled with top priority!

Also, if there is anything else special about your request - for example you want to hold it at a special meeting because you want to practice a speech you will have to hold for work, just contact the VP-Education.

What do I have to do if I take another role but speaker?

If you want to take any other role but speaker, just assign yourself in easy-speak.

And don't forget to bring your CL manual to the meeting.

Especially the Toastmaster, but if possible all roles should be filled before the meeting.

Why should I enter my attendance?

Please enter your attendance in easy-Speak for as many meetings ahead as you can plan. (How to do this)

If you have requested a speech for a meeting, always be sure to say you will attend the meeting.

Also it makes it a lot easier to plan and assign also the minor roles.

Which officer is doing what?

Check TMI (Toastmasters International) for detailed information on the officers' roles.

Basically, if you have a question about your membership status, contact the VP Membership. If it's a question concerning your payment, it's the Treasurer. If it's about a meeting, a role or your own progress, just contact the VP Education.

And if you're not sure - just ask any officer.

How do I contact an officer?

Just go to this page and you can email any of the Effective Communicator's Officers or select "This Club" and "Club Officers" from the menu on the top.

What if I have a question that's not listed here?

If anything is not clear or you have another question and are not sure who will be able to awnser you in time, just use the forum.

This thread is dedicated for your questions.
